The Art Therapy Trust (ATT) was established in 1990 and is now being re-launched with a new focus on promoting excellence in Art Therapy Practice through research and publications. People of all ages and with a wide range of conditions can benefit from Art Therapy and develop better mental health and well-being through using art.
Art has long been known to have therapeutic properties and sometimes, when life gets painful or traumatic, words cannot be found or they are just not enough to describe an inner state of distress. This can make people feel isolated and unable to connect with friends, family and social networks and ultimately it can have a huge accumulative impact on quality of life.
